MAXI-COOL - HALO TM5

Maxi-Cool Halo TM5 top mount server cooling

The Maxi-Cool Halo TM5 is a top-mount server rack cooling system that delivers up to 5kW of close-control cooling directly into your server cabinet — without the need for a dedicated server room or externally mounted condenser. Designed and manufactured in the UK, it is the ideal solution for businesses running servers in offices, factories, or any edge computing environment where conventional air conditioning is impractical or too expensive.

Unlike room-based air conditioning, the Halo TM5 cools only the cabinet itself — meaning no wasted energy cooling space, and no compromise on server performance. It mounts on top of cabinets from 18U upwards, fits through a standard door, runs from a 13-amp wall plug, and can be operational within a couple of hours of delivery.

The Maxi-Cool HALO TM5 is ideal for offices with limited space, as units can be adapted from our UK-based manufacturer to the bespoke needs of individual servers in a modular fashion, providing more efficient cooling and sustainable energy use. Multiple units can be banked together in a row, creating flexible cooling solutions as your business needs and data demands grow. The units are cooled independently using ambient air within the office, and the unit itself emits less than 65db.

Performance

The Halo TM5 delivers 5kW of precision cooling directly into the rack. Maxi-Cool cooling solutions keep equipment components at the right temperature at all times and eliminate hot spots.

Key performance figures at a glance:

  • 5kW of active close-control cooling
  • Less than 7 amps of power consumption at full load — significantly cheaper to run than server room air conditioning
  • Under 65dB noise output — quiet enough for an open office environment
  • Activates automatically when cabinet intake temperature exceeds 21°C
  • Compatible with cabinets from 18U upwards
  • Eliminates Hot spots in the cabinet

How the Halo TM5 Works

The Halo TM5 sits on top of your server cabinet and operates as a self-contained cooling loop. Hot air generated by your servers is drawn from the rear of the cabinet up into the Halo unit, cooled, and returned as conditioned air to the front of the servers — ensuring every item of equipment receives cool air at precisely the right temperature.

The minimal waste heat is extracted from the cabinet and expelled as warm air from the top of the unit, away from the servers and the working environment below. Because the cabinet doors remain closed throughout, the interior stays completely dust-free — no water feeds, drains, or pipework are required.

Maxi-Cool cooling systems have a front-mounted temperature display, making temperature monitoring simple. The entire unit runs from a standard 13-amp plug. There is nothing complicated to install or maintain.

Why Businesses Choose the Halo TM5

MAXI-COOL is a patented design, engineered and manufactured in the UK.
Eliminates Hot Spots
The Halo TM5 delivers cooling air at the right temperature to every item of equipment in the cabinet, preventing the hot spots that cause node crashes and hardware failure. The cabinets are acoustically insulated and rated at under 65dB.
No Server Room Needed
The Halo TM5 removes the need for a dedicated server room entirely. Your server cabinet can sit in an everyday office, factory floor, or edge computing location — saving the cost and space of a separate room.
Fast Installation, No Disruption
Units arrive ready to use and are typically installed within a couple of hours. No building work, no external condenser, and no specialist contractor required — just a standard 13-amp socket.
Lower Running Costs
Power consumption of less than 7 amps at full load makes the Halo TM5 considerably cheaper to run than server room air conditioning. It also reduces your carbon footprint by cooling only the equipment, not the whole room.

Frequently Asked Questions
